General Motors Engine

Our General Motors long block engine range is three four-cylinders from the F16 and F18 families: the F16D3 and F16D4 at 1.6L, and the F18D4 at 1.8L.

The two 1.6L units are close on paper but they are not interchangeable. The F16D3 makes 106 PS and 142 N.m at 4,000 rpm; the F16D4 makes 117 PS and 150 N.m at 3,800 rpm, and it carries a suffix split that decides which car it fits — LDE against LDE-X. In the listing data the LDE entry covers the manual Cruze 1.6L, while LDE-X covers the automatic cars and the Buick Excelle GT 1.6L.

The F18D4 is the 1.8L unit at 143 PS and 177 N.m at 3,800 rpm, and it splits the same way into 2HO and 2HO-X: 2HO is listed against Cruze 1.8L (2009) and the Epica 1.8L, 2HO-X against Cruze 1.8L (2011–2013). Its application list runs across the 2008–2016 Cruze (J300) and the 2011–2018 Orlando (J309).

All three are supplied New / 100% Tested. Because the 1.6L pair share a displacement, the suffix after the engine code is the only dependable way to match a replacement to your car, so confirm it before ordering.
