Toyota ZR engine
The Toyota ZR engine here is the 2ZR-FE, a 1.8L four-cylinder rated 173 N.m at 4,000 rpm and supplied New / 100% Tested.
It is the later of the two 1.8L Toyota engines we stock, and its application list carries chassis codes that make a fitment check straightforward: Allion and Premio (ZRT260/265), Corolla (ZRE142/152), Corolla (ZRE172), Corolla Axio and Fielder (NZE141 and NZE161), Corolla Hatchback (ZRE182), Corolla Cross (ZSG10) and Auris (ZRE152/154), with Yaris also listed.
That spread — from a 2007 Allion through to Corolla Cross — is the practical reason to identify the generation before ordering, since the same model name covers both this engine and the earlier 1ZZ-FE.
One more thing to watch for when you check the list: Toyota sold the 2ZR-FE under more than one model name depending on the market. The Auris entry and the Corolla Hatchback entry are the same kind of car given two different names, so the badge on your tailgate may not match the wording in the application list even when the engine code does.
If your Corolla, RAV4 or Celica is an older one, the ZZ family page is the other half of this comparison.
