Hyundai Gamma II engine

The Gamma II engine family is three 1.6-litre four-cylinders, and the split inside it is induction rather than displacement: the G4FD at 140 PS and 167 N.m and the G4FG at 123–134 PS and 151–157 N.m are naturally aspirated, while the G4FJ runs a turbo and makes 177–204 PS with 265 N.m.

All three are supplied New / 100% Tested. The G4FD is the gasoline-direct-injection version and the G4FG the DVVT version, so if you are weighing the two against each other on the same car, those power figures are the difference you will feel; the rest of the fitment is largely shared.

With the G4FJ, read the application notes rather than the headline figure. The 1.6T appears in two states of tune in the member data: full output in the Veloster and Elantra entries, and a detuned state in Kona (OS) 2017–2020, Sonata (LF) 2014–2019, Tucson (TL) 2015–2020 and Seltos (SP2) 2019–2022. One engine code can therefore sit behind two different power ratings depending on the car it left the factory in.
