Hyundai Nu engine

The Nu engine listings here cover three codes and two displacements: the 2.0L G4NC and G4NA, and the 1.8L G4NB.

The two 2.0L units are the point of this page, because they are not the same engine. The G4NC makes 176 PS and 213 N.m at 4,700 rpm; the G4NA makes 152–156 PS and 192–195 N.m at 4,500 rpm. The 1.8L G4NB sits below both at 145–150 PS and 175–178 N.m at 4,700 rpm. All of them are supplied New / 100% Tested.

Their application lists overlap, which is exactly why the code matters. Sportage appears against both the G4NA and the G4NC, and the G4NB shares Mistra, Forte (YD) and K4 with the G4NA. The most reliable split in the data is the end date: the G4NC list runs to Sportage Ace (NP) 2021 onwards, while the G4NA list stops at Creta (SU2r) 2021–2022.

If your vehicle is a 2.4L, or a 2.0 turbo rather than a 2.0 naturally aspirated, you are looking at the Theta II family instead. Confirm the stamped code before ordering, then check it against the application years.
